Essentia is an abstract visual composition built from sensory fragments that create a personal yet universal sense of home. Instead of showing specific places or cultures, it unfolds through layers of impressions, rhythm, and light—fluid, fractured, and nonlinear, much like memory itself. The work evokes belonging as a felt resonance rather than a defined location. Essentia is influenced by the artist’s experience of growing up in Serbia, followed by ten years spent living in Hungary. This dual cultural background shapes the layers of memory and identity expressed in the piece, highlighting how the idea of home is a fluid, evolving experience rather than a fixed place.

The work premiered at the Shining Shanghai Light Festival, where it was selected among the top 20 finalist projects.
